Mission Impossible? – Flexible general-purpose automation solution for print production wanted

Last week, the focus was on wide format and textile printing: FESPA Global Print Expo 2019, Europe's leading trade show for digital wide format printing and textile printing, attracted an international audience to Messe München. In addition to automating print production, the 700 exhibitors also focused on personalization. The motto "Explosion of Possibilities" could not be more aptly chosen: flexible automation solutions are in demand. Solutions that can work with a wide variety of substrates – be it paper, textiles, plastics, glass, ceramics, metal, wood or vinyl – solutions that automate production from start to finish. From the creation of the artwork to the finishing of the printed products or shipping.

To find a manufacturer that covers all this  is a mission impossible. The code word is "Integration and Connectivity". Integration with MIS and ERP systems that automate order intake and processing. Integration with RIP and printing presses and connection to finishing machines. And of course not to forget: data processing. The artwork to be printed must be prepared  accordingly that print production runs smoothly and seamlessly. We handle the preparation of the print data, including preflighting, data normalization and color management. And we do it with complete flexibility: whether offset or digital printing; wide format or standard – our software solutions can be used across the board for all print products; independent from the printing process and independent from the file format. Incorrect files (low res, missing fonts, missing bleed, etc.) are either identified and reported or corrected immediately. Files that are not corrupt, but slow down the workflow, are optimized so that  the RIP or DFE only needs to do what it was actually intended to: to convert the print file into a Raster Tiff.  The result: simplification  and  streamlining of the workflow.

The FESPA motto "Explosion of Possibilities" is also reflected in our solutions:

  • Do you need a modular software solution? For now you only want to automate preflighting, normalizing and color management? g We got you. If you decide to increase the level of automation ovet time (e.g. job ticketing, imposition, barcodes, etc.): no need to switch systems, we get you an upgrade.
  • Different shapes and sizes of subjects are your deal? You need nesting in all different types?g Whether free-form, guillotine, subnesting, dynamic nesting, ... You name it, we have it!
  •  If you choose our solutions, you can be sure that you will benefit from a high degree of automation: We take care of the integration and connection to your existing systems.

P.S.: A challenge that wide-format printers and textile printers in particular are dealing with on a daily basis and – due to time and cost pressure – are seeking to master automatically: -  Nesting, and consequently the cutting process. In the upcoming days and weeks, we will be illuminating the  different forms of nesting and how to get the jobs done in less time in depth...
